The gems allowing for that have been addressed with the current patch 2. The give tiny extra amounts of xp now compared to 2. People claiming to have been boosted thousands of levels within seconds or minutes are plainly lying.
What hasnt been addressed though is modders still using weapons and equipment with insane amounts of damage. The only way to get boosted now in 2. And even then it will require them to join those rifts and witnessing hackers one-shotting everything several times and not just hopping into the rift and realizing their mistake.
I got boosted back then, having no idea how high greater rifts can really be played with legit gear. Was completely new to all new mechanics. And even back then it took more then a few seconds or minutes to get to paragon ish. Please, just ignore those threads about poor souls still getting boosted without noticing. It is not possible anymore. Everyone with a sane mind will very easily and quickly notice now before and while the get boosted.
Actually I doubt that it can even happen to someone by accident as long as they have the slightest understanding of the game. Thats what I'm trying to get straight here, so if they have crazy exp bonuses, the second person in the party gets the same bonus?
